Just a few quick thoughts about Sarah Palin's speech tonight.
1) It's dangerous to attack the entrenched, Washington insiders when most of them are in your audience.
2) You cannot be against the lobbyists and for more drilling--you will make heads in your audience just spin and spin and spin (by the way, "Drill baby, drill!" is one chant that will give me chills, and not the good kind). If you want to do things a new way, try researching alternative sources of energy and therefore really spread the wealth among innovative Americans (you remember, those people who did amazing things in this country not too long ago), instead of just shoving more into the pockets of the oil companies. I guess in your world, the opposite of change is status quo.
3) We need to get to know you, not your canned (and by the way, mean--do I see Rove here?) opinions about Barack Obama. Get your own speechwriters.
4) I do not think it's sexist to ask you how you think you will manage in to be Vice President with 5 kids (one special needs), a husband who is gone for long stretches at a time, and teenagers who obviously need your guidance at home. I would ask this question to a man who wants to be V.P. too.
5) What happened to maintaining the privacy of the young man who got your daughter pregnant? I can think of no better birth control than to tell a 17 year old who just wants to have sex with his girlfriend that if he gets her pregnant, he might have to take a few days off of his very fun senior year of high school to meet John McCain and hang out at the Republican convention.
6) Could the crowd have been any whiter?
7) If you are doing focus groups to see if you should run for mayor of a small town, you really don't know how politics works. Duh.
8) It's comforting to know that not every woman is Hillary Clinton. Now that woman can give a speech--intimidates the hell out of the rest of us who do some public speaking once in a while.

I will, unfortunately, have to re-read her speech in order to do a more coherent post at a later date.
