- President Obama makes the most important point of the afternoon when he points out that Republicans will be defeated by their own base in the next election because they have dug themselves into a hole by constantly saying Obama is "doing all kinds of crazy stuff that will totally destroy this country." Some day, they will have to admit it's totally false, but it will be too late--their base won't believe them then. Too bad the Republicans weren't listening.
- Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana is a snarky, rude person--totally perfect to host this forum.
- This will all come back to bite the Republicans. They can no longer claim (except to Faux News viewers who weren't allowed to watch the session) that the president has not tried to talk to them.
Who, of substance, is left in the Republican Party? I've said it before, and I'll say it again: we NEED a two-party system in this country. Right now we have one party and an embarrassing gaggle of lunatics. Don't believe me? Check out the results of this poll, and I dare you to tell me the inmates are not running the asylum!
