Ten Rants

Ten things that have made me stop and think this week:

1) Why is it that the car in front of you is always the courteous one--you know, the one that lets another car pull into traffic? Then the two of them waltz gaily through the intersection, while you get stuck at the light!
2) Why is it your good friends get sick, and the most horrible people live to be 100, with no health problems?
3) Why is it OK for a woman with 6 other children, the youngest of which is 2 years old, to have 8 embryos implanted in her uterus, and have all 8 carried to term? This woman now has 14 children under the age of 8. Why didn't someone say, "No. This is wrong."
4) Furthermore, why do some believe it's so wonderful and miraculous to have more than 10 children? Our earth does have a limit to the number of people it can support. Besides, after about 8, isn't it a little difficult to give a child the individual time and attention they need? And deserve? Is it a family or a collection?
5) Why is it that the worst, most discourteous drivers in Indiana have "In God We Trust" license plates on their cars? Are these warning labels?
6) Why do the Republicans hold on to the sacred cow of tax cuts? Do they not realize that a) the American people said, via their votes this year, that is a failed economic theory, and
b) "Trickle down" only benefits the richest......Oh, I think I just answered this question.
7) Why aren't there any cool, good-looking women's clothes out there?
8) Why does winter seem to last so long, and summer seems to go by so quickly?
9) Why wasn't "Milk" released before the election? I do believe Prop 8 would have failed in California if this movie were seen by some before the election.
10) Why don't world leaders insist that all of their citizens travel to another country at least once every 2 years? There would be a lot more global understanding if this were the case.
