The Vanity Fair article was really excellent, and the work that Andrew Sullivan has been doing at the Daily Dish to compile and document her lies and hypocrisies is outstanding. But the best local perspectives have been coming out of a local Alaskan blogger at Mudflats (http://www.themudflats.net/). I suspect he's gong to be as close as anyone to what the actual issue behind the resignation may be.
In any case, it's good to see her go...even my die-hard Republican brother who lives up there was tired of her: thought she'd become 'inauthentic'?
