Reason # 23:  Why I will not vote for Mitt Romney:
The next president will, in all likelihood, be appointing 2-3 justices to the Supreme Court.
THIS is important.
While it's not a guarantee that a presidential appointee will have the same views as the president, most appointees have the same "flavor" as the president doing the appointing.
To me, the most important issue that seems to come before the Court on a regular basis is women's reproductive rights.  The  anti-choice crowd seems to have unlimited funding and energy, and are hell-bent on whittling away at Roe v Wade--they have influence in a large number of state legislatures, and are getting law after law passed that eventually has to be decided by the Supreme Court.  And I don't see them stopping, even if they get Roe v Wade overturned.
The day Roe v Wade is overturned will be a black day in America, for it will mean a return to the days when women had no control over their bodies.  Furthermore, while there's the idea that outlawing abortion will lead to no abortions, quite the opposite will happen.  Abortions will continue, by desperate women, and will be extremely unsafe.  Women will start dying unnecessarily, just as they did before Roe v Wade.  Don't believe me?  Ask your grandma about the old days.  Don't be surprised by her heart-wrenching response.
Let's commit to protect women.  Let's vote to allow Barack Obama to nominate the next 2-3 justices to the Supreme Court.
